This is pioneer project of Zunnorain Welfare Society , in which initially 30 persons with special needs will be trained and skilled through vocational training of Fashion designing, sewing, handicraft, jewelry making, professional cooking etc helping them escape vicious circle of poverty by ensuring a sustainable livelihood for these financially challenged, persons with special needs. ZWS aims to provide this sheltered training space a sustainable one, to empower more persons with special needs
The most vulnerable people are those suffering from moderate to severe level of intellectual disability. At ZWS, there are 30 such individuals aged from 12 to 25 years.Poverty has left low income families with no choice but to keep the CWDs at home or force them into labor.Persons with intellectual impairment, working as a labor are most vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse. As for other special education centers,do not provide vocational training to them because it's assumed they cant learn.
Training persons with intellectual impairment requires a consistent and structured vocational training to empower and help them learn a specific skill. Even after years of hard work, they struggle and require constant adult supervision to complete their given tasks satisfactorily. Thus, isn't easy to gain and sustain an employment in regular work environment. Zunnorain Welfare Society offer such comfortable work conditions where they can learn then gradually earn under supervised safe environment
ZWS draws its values from basic principles of humanity and equality and we ensure to restore the feeling of self-esteem and dignity in children we serve.By training these 30 children with intellectual impairment we aim to start a cycle of empowering and helping these children so that they don't have to spend their lives living off charity. Our goal is to make this sheltered training space a sustainable one and reciprocate the same approach to empower more 5000 children with special needs.
