Empowering Women of Nepal (EWN) is proud to announce the commencement of our new Digital Apps Training, specifically designed for female trekking guides from the Himalayan region. This initiative marks a significant step in our ongoing mission to equip women with the tools and knowledge they need to excel in the trekking industry, a field where EWN has been a pioneer for the past 25 years.
In this training, we have formed small groups of 6-8 female guides, allowing our trainers to provide hands-on, practical instruction using mobile devices. The training module is comprehensive, covering a range of essential digital tools that are invaluable for trekking. These include GPS navigation apps, first aid apps, language translation apps for assisting foreign trekkers, and other resources tailored to the needs of guides in remote and challenging environments.
The training sessions are designed to be thorough and impactful, with each session spanning four days to ensure that every aspect of the module is covered in depth. To date, we have successfully completed three sessions, each one enhancing the digital literacy and capabilities of our participants. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are committed to continuing this program, with plans to conduct more than five sessions soon.
This initiative is more than just a training program; it is a vital part of our broader effort to empower female guides by integrating digital tools into their daily routines. By doing so, we aim to make their work more efficient, their lives easier, and the services they provide to their customers even more exceptional.
We are excited about the future of this program and the positive impact it will have on the lives of female trekking guides in Nepal. As EWN continues to lead the way in female empowerment within the trekking industry, we invite the global community to support and celebrate these remarkable women who are not only breaking barriers but also setting new standards of excellence in their field.
