The global COVID-19 pandemic took everyone by surprise. Planning done at Superatec in early 2020 was interrupted. What do we do now? That was our first reaction. We were doing all the training programs in a face-to-face way. The centers had to stay closed because of the quarantine. That is why we had to find creative ways to continue serving the girls... We knew that the vast majority did not have computers or internet in their homes, so we realized that they could not have online training, which is why we had to find new ways to reach them and not abandon their training.
We quickly created self-instructional guides that were given one by one in the communities where the beneficiaries live, so that they could carry out activities prepared especially for them. As a stimulus we offered food packages and hygiene kits donated by the Catholic Education Association AVEC and the Education Cannot Wait Foundation.
One of the participants, Leocenis, told us that she is very grateful to Superatec and the instructor, since durying the quarantine she was at home doing nothing, and with the learning, supported by her parents, she has decided to go ahead and resume her studies.
