After the June 24 earthquake, Superatec and Mercy Corps immediately began supporting 250 children and their families with psychosocial care and emergency relief while assessing damaged schools. With your support, we will expand this response to 2,000 children by transforming Superatec's Digital Inclusion Centers into Safe Temporary Learning Spaces where children can continue learning, recover emotionally and return safely to school in September 2026.
Thousands of children lost access to safe education after the June 24 earthquake damaged schools and disrupted learning. Many schools remain unsafe or are being used as temporary shelters, increasing the risk of school dropout, emotional distress and child protection concerns. Every week without education makes recovery more difficult. Children need safe places to learn now-not months from now.
Superatec and Mercy Corps are already supporting 250 children while assessing damaged schools. With your support, we will expand this response to 2,000 children by activating Superatec's Digital Inclusion Centers as Safe Temporary Learning Spaces. Children will receive educational recovery, psychosocial support, recreational activities, learning materials and digital resources while schools are repaired and prepared for a safe return.
This project will help prevent school dropout and ensure that 2,000 children return safely to learning before the new school year begins. Beyond the emergency, it will strengthen community resilience, support the recovery of local schools and demonstrate how existing community learning centers can provide rapid educational continuity during future crises.
