Challenge

Presently, the women of Erinmo-Ijesha have no voice, for a fact they are not contributing to home upkeep. This has reduced the women to a life of servitude and abuse from their husbands, with no money they have no power over their own lives. Children suffer because the family cannot afford to fend for them nor send them to school, so the cycle of poverty continues making hunger a fearful prospect. This project will empower over 200 Erinmo women in business start-up

Solution

Income is the key to attain economic independence. AGF offers informal form of business management training and mentoring. Supplication of seedlings, farm tools and farmland for farming. Provision of grinding machines means women can process and sell processed farm produce like garri, flour, coarse flour etc. Provision of generating set, freezer for preservation and storage of farm produce for commercial purpose. Access to micro loan for start-up business. Access to larger markets.

Long-Term Impact

When she's empowered, her generation and family is empowered. We will train the poorest 250 women in the village which will in turn train others subsequently and run village committees thereby make crucial decisions for their communities.
