From the Classroom to the Regional Stage

Nyumbani Village operates three schools: Hotcourses Primary and Junior School, Lawson Senior School, and the COGRI Vocational Training Centre. This project sponsors children across the primary and secondary levels, covering their fees, uniforms, and learning materials.

This term, all 414 children in Nyumbani Village schools completed term one and returned for term two. That is what your support makes possible.

The highlight of the term was how the children showed up outside the classroom. The Hotcourses drama team placed first at both the zonal and sub-county festivals, competing in cultural creative dance at both primary and junior school levels. On the sports field, 37 students represented Nyumbani at the county athletics, rugby, and basketball competitions in Mwingi. Seven junior school basketball boys qualified for the regional competition, and one primary school boy qualified for regionals in high jump. Lawson Senior School hosted an inter-school sports competition with Hotcourses, bringing both schools together on home ground.

On the academic side, Hotcourses students are registered and preparing for their national KNEC examinations, with 30 candidates sitting for KPSEA and 64 for KJSEA.

And here is something worth knowing. GlobalGiving's July Bonus Day falls on July 15 this year, and we are in. If you donate $100 or more on that day, GlobalGiving will match it. So if you have been thinking about giving, that is a good day to do it. Your money will go further, and these kids will feel it.

Thank you for being in their corner.
