Dear Friends,
Because of you, the dream of higher education and sustainable livelihoods remains alive for the orphaned youth in our care.
At Nyumbani, we have always believed in walking the full journey with our children, from childhood to confident adulthood. This project focuses on one of the most critical transitions: helping our young people access tertiary and technical education so they can build lives of dignity and purpose.
“This course gave me more than skills—it gave me confidence.”
— Brian, a CVTC student and an aspiring electrician
Vocational Training: Learning Real-World Skills
Between April and June 2025, 83 young people (55 boys and 28 girls) were enrolled in our Vocational Training Centre (CVTC). Many of them have grown up in Nyumbani Village and are either HIV-affected or orphaned. Your past support helped make this possible.
Through hands-on learning and mentorship, they are now training in courses such as:
Why Your Continued Support Matters
Without access to tertiary or vocational education, even the brightest young adults in our care risk falling back into cycles of poverty. Your support helps ensure their futures don’t stall just as they’re ready to soar.
This project is about more than school fees, it’s about giving 100 determined young people the final push they need to stand on their own. It’s the difference between surviving and thriving.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the next quarter, we are reaching out to more partners, preparing scholarship applications, and continuing to support each student’s journey toward self-reliance. We invite you to keep walking with us: whether by renewing your support, sharing our project page, or simply encouraging others to believe in the power of education.
With heartfelt thanks,
The Nyumbani Team
