Red MenTe is a community of +1000 women of 15 and 30y/o who have graduated from at least one of our programs.Through your participation you can collaborate to reduce the gender gap that exists in STEAM careers by allowing them to experience and consider technology as part of their professional development.Red MenTe allows them to have access to talks with professional women in STEAM, access courses that allow them to level their knowledge of technological tools and opt for certifications
In the world, women represent 35% of higher education students in STEAM careers and less than 30% in scientific research. In Costa Rica, women do not even reach 10% of participation in careers with jobs in high demand. This demonstrates a clear gender gap that stems from the little access to technological advances and innovation in the country. We must create spaces where women can experience technology and where they can consider this area as an option for future development.
Through programs such as Mente en Accion and Women in Action, we seek to encourage women to participate, learn and access fields that belong to them, by creating spaces where they can learn about STEAM. This programs aims to reach the most disadvantaged areas in the country in regards to access to technology in order to empower each participating woman through innovation, alongside the development of personal skills. Being par of the Red MenTe will strengthen their learning.
The Red MenTe offers the opportunity for women in Costa Rica to have access to training programs in areas of technology, internships in STEAM-related companies and workshops on relevant social issues and innovation. The purpose is to provide the majority of women with an employable profile and be an impulse for those who did not previously see a future for their personal and professional career in technology and creativity.
