Project Overview:
Our project provides music skills training and mentorship to youth in the Ghanaian communities, focusing on digital literacy, creative arts, and entrepreneurship to drive education, economic empowerment, and community development.
Progress Update:
- Number of beneficiaries: 50 young people aged 15-25 received training and mentorship from March – June 2026
- Mentorship program: Paired 10 young musicians with industry experts for 3 months of guidance and support
Impact Story:
_"The training I received has changed my life. I'm now confident in my abilities and have started my own music compositions."_ – Kwame, 19, project beneficiary
Challenges and Lessons Learned:
- Challenges: Difficulty reaching remote areas due to transport costs and high data prices for online learning
- Lessons learned: Importance of community engagement and partnerships with local businesses and telecom providers to reduce barriers
Future Plans:
- Scale up to reach 500 more youth by adding a mobile training unit for rural districts
- Expand skills training to include music entrepreneurship and content creation
- Strengthen partnerships with Accra and Kumasi SMEs to create apprenticeship and job placement opportunities for graduates
