Dear our lovely supporters,
Thanks to the valiant efforts of the government and the full cooperation of the citizens, much of lives in Vietnam has returned to normal for a while even though COVID-19 is still wreaking havoc in other parts of the world. Therefore, our young leaders were able to reunite and back to the race against climate change in Stage 2 of Vietnam Climate Leadership Initiative at the end of May.
Over the course of 3 and a half days (28 - 31/05), the fellows worked on their proposals and delved deeper into knowledge so as climate change, the application of a critical-thinking method (design think) and a model to build up projects (Canvas) with the support from skillful facilitators, experienced mentors and enthusiastic supporters.
The morale escalated to the next level on the last day when groups of contestants competed to make it through one of five groups awarded with $1,000 for their project. After detailed consideration, the jury panel selected 5 most suitable groups with projects varying from scooping rubbish out of Cai Rang river to facilitating the supply and demand of straw after a crop yield. Beyond our wildest dream, the remaining teams also received funding from a member of the jury board and an unfamiliar philanthropist. We now can act collectively to tackle the long fight ahead.
When I'm writing these lines, we are approaching the final stage, Incubation, where we'll increase the capacities of the warriors before the real fight. I will keep you posted about what will have happened in the next post. Stay tuned and take care!
