Start of the Fall Semester Session
On August 20 we began the 2022 fall semester with more than thirty-eight (38) scholarship holders. We feel fortunate to count on Casa Hogar Ortigosa as our allies, since we were able to make use of its facilities to resume our activities in a hybrid format, after so long of only gathering online. And what a joy to see us in person again!
A fundamental part of our Comprehensive Scholarship Program is the encouragement of the personal and professional development of our scholarship recipients. For this reason, a series of workshops and courses are given during the year that allows them to strengthen their soft skills, as well as provide tools for their empowerment.
On this occasion, Beatriz Santeliz, systems engineer, shared with us the workshop "Finance for non-financials", which has been a great success in our community of women. Through exercises, tasks and dynamic activities, the rights holders have learned that financial issues have a direct impact on our empowerment.
During this period of time, we also concluded USAID's second phase of JAVA program for Institutional Strengthening, which allows us to optimize and improve our processes, and also leaves us deeply enriched with an international vision. It has been key to integrate the perspective of each area of the association (management, development, programs, communication, etc.) in second phase in order to design and plan next year goals. As a team, we are certain that building much solid bases will take us further than we could ever dream of, and this is something that motivates and commits us even more as a team.
This coming November 26th we'll be hosting the Semester Closing Session, where we will celebrate the graduation of three (3) Cordem Women, as well as welcoming ten (10) new scholarship holders of the program who will start in January. In addition, we will have an activity that will be carried out by volunteers from Iberdrola México, an allied company of our organization.
Last, but not least, we want to express our infinite thanks to those who joined our Little by Little campaign! As a result of your contributions, $660 was doubled for our project.

El sábado 20 de agosto dimos inicio al semestre Agosto-Diciembre 2022, dando la bienvenida a nuestras más de treinta y ocho (38) becarias activas. Nos sentimos muy fortunadas de seguir contando con Casa Hogar Ortigosa como aliadas, ya que pudimos hacer uso de sus instalaciones para reanudar nuestras actividades en un formato híbrido a manera de seguir fortaleciendo las relaciones interpersonales dentro de nuestra comunidad CORDEM. ¡Y qué alegría vernos en persona de nuevo!
Una parte fundamental de nuestro Programa Integral de Becas está caracterizado por la búsqueda de llevar más allá el desarrollo personal y profesional de nuestras becarias. Con tal motivo, durante el año se imparten una serie de talleres y cursos que fortalecen sus habilidades blandas y les acercan herramientas para su empoderamiento.
En esta ocasión, la Ing. Beatriz Santeliz nos impartió el taller de “Finanzas para no financieras”, el cual ha tenido un gran éxito en nuestra comunidad de becarias. A través de ejercicios, tareas y dinámicas, las titulares de derecho han aprendido que los temas financieros tienen un impacto directo en nuestro empoderamiento.
Durante este periodo también dimos por terminada nuestra segunda fase de Formación y Fortalecimiento en el programa JAVA de USAID, la cual nos permite optimizar y mejorar nuestros proceso y nos deja un profundo enriquecimiento con visión internacional. Ha sido clave integrar la mirada de cada área de la asociación (dirección, desarrollo, programas, comunicación) en este ejercicio de revisión, diseño y planeación de objetivos. Construir bases cada vez más sólidas nos llevan mucho más lejos de lo que pudimos soñar, y esto es algo que nos motiva y compromete más aún como equipo.
Este próximo 26 de noviembre estaremos celebrando la sesión de Cierre de Semestre, en donde celebraremos la graduación de tres (3) Mujeres Cordem y, además, le daremos la bienvenida a diez (10) nuevas becarias del programa, quienes iniciarán en enero. Aunado a ello, tendremos una actividad que correrá a cargo del voluntariado de Iberdrola México, empresa aliada de nuestra organización.
Por último pero no menos importante, ¡infinitas gracias a quienes se sumaron a nuestra campaña Little by Little! Como resultado de sus aportaciones, se logró duplicar 660 dólares.
