Women’s Day Celebration – Empowering Agripreneurs

Project Title: Empowering Women Agripreneurs for Sustainable Livelihoods
Location: Tamil Nadu, India
Date of Activity: International Women’s Day (March 8)

1. Overview

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, VOICE Trust proudly recognized and celebrated 20+ women agripreneurs who are driving sustainable agriculture and community resilience in rural regions of Tamil Nadu.

These women are not just farmers—they are innovators, income generators, and climate champions, contributing to food security, local economies, and environmental sustainability.

2. Objectives

To recognize and honor women agripreneurs for their contributions
To encourage women-led agricultural enterprises
To promote climate-resilient and sustainable farming practices
To strengthen community-based livelihoods

3. Key Activities

Felicitation ceremony honoring 20+ women agripreneurs
Sharing of success stories and peer learning sessions
Recognition awards and certificates distribution
Community engagement to highlight women-led impact

4. Impact Achieved

20+ women recognized for leadership in agriculture and entrepreneurship
Increased visibility and confidence among rural women leaders
Strengthened local networks of agripreneurs
Encouraged adoption of sustainable and climate-smart practices
Inspired young women and girls to pursue agriculture-based livelihoods

5. Beneficiary Profile

The women honored are engaged in:

Organic farming and natural agriculture
Kitchen gardens and nutrition farming
Value-added agricultural products
Coastal and climate-resilient farming practices

Most beneficiaries come from low-income rural and coastal communities, where agriculture is a primary livelihood source.

The event highlighted inspiring journeys of women who:

Transitioned from traditional farming to organic methods
Built micro-enterprises around agricultural products
Became community leaders and trainers for other women
