Status Report on Empower Women and Children by Livelihood Options

Project Summary:

Village Initiative for Empowerment of Women (VIEW) a women rights focused NGO located at Kurigram District in Bangladesh aimed to address Asset building strategy that increases financial and tangible assets focuses of individuals, families and communities at vulnerable poverty stricken rural areas in Kurigram, Bangladesh. This project is assisted by GlobalGiving from since inception.VIEW plans to 0rganizing 500 women for developing groups' solidarities, 200 Adolescents girls providing life skill training and entrepreneurship training to 200 progressive women and enroll 900 children who are out reach of education from extreme poor families and also building assets for 100 disadvantaged and poor women. VIEW also derived Community Health services benefiting to 10,000 beneficiaries and address emergency responses.

The project interventions we have been just started from early September, 2022 and continued according to project plan. Some activities have been just started and while others activities has also be taken into consideration to implement the programmes. During the period we have formed 5 groups composed of 100 women, organise 5 adolescent groups, 150 outreach children have been contacted for enrolment in 2023 education year, contacted and finalize 10 qualified school teachers.

 

Project Donation Options:

$10 sharing meeting with stakeholders

$25 Orient staffs on project approaches

$50 for procurement of 05 nos poultry for rearing to earn income

$100 for procurement of goat to rearing at beneficiaries

$100-500 for procurement of health kits and medication

$ 500-1000 for procumbent of sewing machine for beneficiaries to create self-employment and income

$ 1500-2500 for procurement of milky cow for beneficiaries to earn money

$2500-3500 for conducting life skill training for adolescent girls

Project Challenge:

Rural residents in some areas continue to face higher unemployment and higher poverty rates compared with their urban counterparts. Challenges in finding employment can make it extremely difficult to accumulate wealth and to save for the future.Besides, labour migration from villages to cities for searching employment to some extend hampered the activities unless delayed the activities.

Project Solution:

We train disadvantaged women, adolescents’ girls and children in rural Bangladesh how to build development program that aims to reduce poverty and vulnerability in communities engaged in small-scale off-farm activities, micro-entrepreneurship initiatives and various Income Generating Interventions. This program includesprovide education to help individuals, families, and communities gather the resources that will move them towards socio-economic wellbeing.

Employment, income and wealth contributing to better outcomes resources available to families can have an impact on long-term educational, employment and income opportunities, Report focused on asset building and economic development strategies in rural communities that aim to create and sustain local wealth and social development.
