Over the past quarter, Tanzania Social Light Foundation (TSLF) successfully implemented the second phase of our women’s economic empowerment program aimed at strengthening the capacity of Women Self-Help Groups (WSHGs) which is Community Microfinance Groups across 4 wards in Kisarawe District.
Through workshops, mentorship sessions, and ongoing field visits, the initiative empowered over 135 women with practical knowledge in financial literacy, savings and loan management, recordkeeping, group governance, and income diversification.
These Self-Help Groups will be helpful to increase their confidence, unity, social awareness, understanding and leadership qualities among women. Skill development, Counseling, Capabilities enhancement and development of their living standard and livelihood are the important concerns which will be able to remove the poverty.
This Project aims to support the efforts made by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in reducing poverty, promoting equality and empowering Tanzanian citizens.
If we get more funding, this project will reach more rural women and enable Facilitation of the formation of over 500 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Its Registration in Tanzania: This Project will continue helping the poor and marginalized women by providing high-impact "giving for change" resourcing, Self-help groups formation and registration, providing training, technical assistance and capacity-building as well as by promoting appropriate technologies and networking among relevant stakeholders who can help development partners achieve their respective poverty reduction objectives.
