Empower 500 Women, End Poverty Cycle in Tanzania

FACILITATION OF THE FORMATION OF 8 SELF-HELP GROUPS (SHGS) AND REGISTRATION

We would like to share with you about the progress of our program for the last 3 months. This program has been able to reach 240 women and mobilized them to form the 8 Self-help groups that can provide access of small financial services, so they may work their way out of poverty and reduce depression, anxiety and isolation.

These Self-Help Groups will be helpful to increase their confidence, unity, social awareness, understanding and leadership qualities among women. Skill development, Counseling, Capabilities enhancement and development of their living standard and livelihood are the important concerns which will be able to remove the poverty.

The ‘Program to Promote Equality, Economic Advancement and Community Empowerment (PEACE)’ is an initiative of Tanzania Social Light Foundation (TSLF) to promote social enterprises to help rural households and communities be self-sustaining and resilient.  

This Program aims to support the efforts made by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in reducing poverty, promoting equality and empowering Tanzanian citizens.

If we get more funding, this program will reach more rural women and enable Facilitation of the formation of over 500 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Its Registration in Tanzania: This Program will continue helping the poor and marginalized by providing high-impact "giving for change" resourcing, Self-help groups formation and registration, providing training, technical assistance and capacity-building as well as by promoting appropriate technologies and networking among relevant stakeholders who can help development partners achieve their respective poverty reduction objectives.
