DENISE FOUNDATION REPORT 2024
A number of activities were carried out in 2024 including; guiding and helping children to write letters, follow up on the already established projects on their usage, supervising and monitoring the construction works of the kitchen, distributing scholastic materials, paying fees, distributing food stuffs, chicken and other household items like mattresses, bed sheets among others.
In the last 3 months, we have closely worked on children’s education by making sure that they are at school, paid school fees in time; give scholastic materials to all sponsored children. This has greatly improved on children’s attendance and learning and that is our happiness of seeing better results out of the efforts of sponsorship.
We have closely guided and helped our sponsored children to write letters to their sponsors. This is one of the big tasks that required a number of hours and days since we work with rural children with language challenges, we devoted a number of hours to make sure that the activity was completed successfully.
We have worked closely to support the children in Fred’s home. These require care and support from Fred, sometimes failing to travel because he is not assured of what will happen tomorrow. But, all is well with the boys; they are happy, go to school and fed well.
Besides the boys in the home, we have distributed food stuffs; mattresses, bed sheets, blankets and other gifts from sponsors. Families and children are very happy about the gifts from their sponsors, such gifts and food stuffs gave improved on the wellbeing of these vulnerable children.
We distributed food stuffs to all our sponsored children and cleared medical bills to some of them more so the family of Viola, we helped her mum to get treated. We do this to critical cases but we encourage care takers to grow enough food for the family as well as reducing on dependency.
We have registered few cases as an organisation for water born related diseases unlike before the construction of shallow wells.
Challenges faced
We have many OVCs that needs better shelters within in refugee hosting communities.
Lack of equipment’s to use at the office like camera, scanner and printer.
Our work is mostly voluntary based with limited number of staff which has resulted the delay on response to letters from our sponsors and implementation of some actives.
Weather is also affected so much it’s dusty during sunny season and muddy during rainy season this makes our movement difficult since we use a motorbike.
In conclusion there I thank our team DFUK for the tremendous work is doing for achieving all the above-mentioned activities and also, I thank our lovely sponsors for your endless support your true agent of change it’s only the almighty who can reward you for the wonderful work you’re doing. We thank GlobalGiving for giving us an international platform to show the world what we’re doing.
