Summary

Our world is rapidly digitizing. Higher education, especially in STEM fields, can not leap behind. It must adapt to the needs of future students and graduates. A key aspect of doing so is to give students the opportunity to state their opinions and share their experiences. Your donation contributes to making a high-impact programme around Digital Literacy in European higher education, run by Board of European Students of Technology (BEST). So join us today in creating a better tomorrow!

Challenge

Almost 20 million European students are enrolled in higher education. During classes, they are trained to become critical members of society. However, when it comes down to their own educational system, they don't always get the means to make their opinions heard. With our Educational Involvement Programme, we give students a platform to share their stories and experiences. We then unite their voices and disseminate them to the policymakers. In this way, we want to make a change in education.

Solution

Each year BEST starts a 3-year-cycle around a topic related to higher education. To gather input, we conduct a survey on 1000 European students. Next, 88 students are invited to 4 Symposia on Education to have qualitative discussions. After the events, everything is gathered in scientific reports, which are shared through conferences and other channels. With its 3500 volunteers, BEST has the human resources to run this project. However, your donation is the financial push we need to step it up.

Long-Term Impact

With our Educational Involvement Programme, BEST aims to reach thousands of students around Europe. Not only do we interview them, but we also try to educate them by sharing with them the outcomes of our Programme. We target more than just the students with our results, we also participate in conferences where we reach out to policymakers all over Europe to disseminate our reports. By being present among all stakeholders, BEST believes it can change the future of higher education in Europe.
