Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, but sometimes reaching their potential requires more than what the classroom alone can provide. Thierry’s recent academic achievement is an encouraging example of how additional educational support can help a student move forward.
During the 2025–2026 academic year, Thierry’s school assessment report recorded an overall score of 57%. Recognizing the importance of helping students strengthen their academic skills, the Rwanda-one4one Education Program provided additional support through tutoring, made possible by the generosity of our donors.
That investment helped Thierry prepare for an important milestone: Rwanda’s national examinations.
The results were encouraging. Thierry successfully passed his national examinations with an overall score of 76.8%. His results included an outstanding 93% in Social Studies and Religious Education, 79% in English, 73% in Science and Elementary Technology, and 70% in Mathematics.
His national examination score was 19.8 percentage points higher than the 57% recorded on his earlier classroom assessment. Although these assessments measure performance in different settings, the results highlight an important moment of progress in Thierry’s educational journey.
For Thierry, passing his national examinations represents more than a score on a report card. It is an achievement to celebrate and an important step toward continuing his education and building a future filled with opportunity.
We cannot attribute every aspect of Thierry’s results to tutoring alone, but we know that providing additional educational support gives students more opportunities to prepare and succeed. His achievement is an encouraging reminder of what we can accomplish when we invest in young people and give them the support they need to move forward.
Thank you for being part of Thierry’s story!
Warmly,
Jennifer Paone, Board Chair
