Epic Arts in Kampot, Cambodia supports people with disabilities and their families. Our mission is to create a more inclusive society, we do this through education, employment, social support and awareness raising. Every year we raise awareness of disability issues to the general public through arts and creative media, we teach children with disabilities in our special education classes, we support their families and we provide jobs and training opportunities for people with disabilities.
Having a disability in Cambodia means you're likely to be hidden away, isolated from society and will face daily discrimination. The stigma associated with disability means that children and people with disabilities are one of the most vulnerable groups in Cambodia, as a result many have limited opportunities to their basic rights. Simple things like attending school, getting a job or leading a fulfilled life are extremely challenging for people with disabilities.
Opportunity is at the heart of our efforts in helping to transform the lives of people with disabilities so that they can thrive. We provide inclusive educational that nurtures growth and a sense of belonging for children with disabilities. Our social enterprises provide valuable employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities. We work with community and local authorities to change their perceptions of disability through the arts and advocacy.
