A Story from the Classroom

By Anser Javed | Executive Director

When Hina walks into her classroom now, she no longer feels unsure.

Just a few months ago, she stood quietly in front of her students, holding a book but unsure how to teach it. The children looked at her with expectation, but she lacked the confidence and skills to guide them. Many of her students came from homes where no one could read or write.

Today, her classroom sounds different. Children are reading aloud, participating in activities, and smiling as they learn. Hina plans her lessons, uses simple teaching aids, and knows how to engage every child. She often says, “I didn’t just learn how to teach, I learned how to believe in myself.”

Your support made this transformation possible.

Through this project, Chopan Trust continues to invest in young women from marginalized communities, equipping them to become confident and capable early educators. These teachers are serving in low-cost schools where quality education is often out of reach.

Activities Implemented

Over the reporting period, the following key activities were carried out:

  • Monthly Teacher Trainings:
Regular training sessions were conducted for 40 teachers each month under the 3Es (Empowering Early Educators) Program. These sessions focused on:

    • Foundational literacy and numeracy teaching methods

    • Lesson planning and classroom management

    • Child-centered and activity-based learning approaches

  • Classroom Coaching & Support:
Teachers received ongoing guidance to apply what they learned in real classroom settings.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation Visits:
Monthly school visits were conducted to:

    • Observe teaching practices

    • Provide on-the-spot feedback

    • Ensure quality and consistency in learning environments

  • Encouragement & Mentorship:
Special attention was given to building teachers’ confidence, motivation, and sense of purpose.

Use of Funds

Funds raised through GlobalGiving have been used responsibly to support:

  • Training materials and resource development

  • Facilitation of monthly training workshops

  • Travel and logistics for monitoring and evaluation visits

  • Development of simple teaching aids for classrooms

  • Ongoing mentorship and administrative support

Each contribution has directly strengthened the capacity of teachers serving in under-resourced schools.

Impact Achieved

  • 40 teachers trained every month

  • Improved teaching quality across multiple low-cost schools

  • Hundreds of children experiencing more engaging and effective learning

  • Increased confidence and professional growth among young female teachers

Teachers are now better equipped to teach readin

Looking Ahead

The journey is ongoing. With continued support, Chopan Trust aims to:

  • Expand training to reach 100 teachers

  • Strengthen up to 60 community schools

  • Impact the learning of over 4,000 children

Your support is not just funding a project. It is shaping classrooms, restoring confidence in young teachers, and opening doors of opportunity for children who need it most.

Because of you, teachers like Hina are no longer standing unsure.
They are leading, inspiring, and transforming lives—one classroom at a time.
