Progress Report for January-March 2026

By Faith Luvembe | Project Leader

Progress Report to GlobalGiving: April 2026

Project: HELP GIRLS & WOMEN BUILD CLIMATE HEALTH RESILIENCE IN KENYA

Reporting Period: January 1, 2026 – March 31, 2026

Prepared by Project Leader: Ms. Faith Luvembe

Dear GlobalGiving Community,

We are grateful for your continued support and commitment to our mission of building climate and health resilience among girls and young women in Kenya. Over the past three months, our focus has been on strengthening internal systems, refining our approach, and navigating capacity and resource limitations that have slowed full-scale implementation.

Reflection & Strategic Alignment

This reporting period has been more reflective than active on the ground. While we had initially planned to expand pilot activities, we recognized the need to pause and ensure that our foundation remains strong, sustainable, and responsive to the realities within the communities we serve.

During this time, we revisited our program design and made key improvements to our curriculum and delivery model. This included:

  • Further refining our training materials to ensure they are practical, culturally relevant, and easy to implement in low-resource settings
  • Strengthening our community engagement strategy to build deeper trust and ownership with local stakeholders
  • Reviewing lessons from our initial pilot to better align future sessions with the lived experiences of adolescent girls

Operational Challenges

Like many early-stage community initiatives, we experienced a few challenges this quarter that impacted the pace of implementation:

  • Limited funding, which constrained our ability to scale pilot sessions
  • Capacity gaps, particularly in mobilization and consistent field presence
  • The need to prioritize quality over speed, ensuring that when we scale, we do so effectively and sustainably

While this meant fewer on-the-ground activities than anticipated, it has allowed us to be more intentional about the next phase of the project.

Staying Connected to the Mission

Even in a slower season, our commitment to the girls and communities we serve remains strong. Stories like Amina’s continue to ground our work and remind us why this project matters.

We have continued informal engagement with community contacts and maintained relationships that will be essential when implementation resumes more actively.

Looking Ahead: Next Steps

In the coming months, our focus will be on reactivating field activities with a stronger and more sustainable approach. We aim to:

  • Resume and expand pilot sessions with improved curriculum delivery
  • Strengthen local partnerships to support implementation
  • Mobilize additional resources to support program scale-up
  • Begin capturing more impact stories and visual documentation from the field

We remain deeply thankful for your patience, belief, and continued support.

Every step, even the slower, behind-the-scenes ones is helping us build a program that will have lasting, meaningful impact in the lives of girls and young women.

With gratitude,
Faith Luvembe
