Due to the pandemic and other infrastructural issues, we had to push back the planned start of our literacy classes for the Holy Trinity boys a few times this year. Although we delivered items to setup computer infrastructure along with other essential supplies, it has proven to be quite challenging to begin the classes. We are diligently working with local authorities to determine the best course of action for this project to be effective.

Meanwhile we shifted our focus to successfully initiate classes at two new project sites using available resources. Discussions are also underway for other potential projects that allow us to broaden our reach to areas where literacy gaps have been identified.

Please stay tuned for our future updates.

We appreciate your support and understanding and hope to continue this journey together!

In March this year, Ann Foundation initiated its journey to provide English and computer literacy classes to 72 children at the Holy Trinity orphanage. During our preliminary assessment, we also became aware of the lack of daily essentials (i.e., sleeping system, school supplies, disinfectants, masks, etc.) and access to clean drinking water.

With your donations, we have been able to purchase an inverter with a backup battery system and new computers for the learning center. Additionally, by way of in-kind donations, we have been able to arrange for a safe drinking water system, immunity kits, and masks for the children.

However, in the past several weeks, the orphanage faced some challenges due to a severe wave of the pandemic in southern India. Some of the boys had to be hospitalized but we are happy to know that they have fully recovered now. Due to the strict local lockdown measures, the courier companies were unable to deliver the inverter, computers, and face masks as originally planned but is now underway. We are currently in the process of fixing the educational infrastructure and will soon be ready to start our classes.

We thank you for sharing your time with us to learn more about our project and extend our gratitude for your support, thoughtfulness, and generosity. We know that together we can put these kids one step closer to a better and healthier life!
