Every meaningful project begins long before the first seed is planted. Although we have not yet received funding to launch activities at the Omel Farm Hub, this quarter has been an important season of preparation. We have continued refining our plans, updating the project into a standalone social enterprise of Friends of Children Circle (FOCC) Uganda, and engaging potential partners who share our vision of creating a sustainable farm that will improve livelihoods while generating income to support our programs for vulnerable children and families.
One exciting step has been identifying suitable land in Omel Subcounty—the future home of the Omel Farm Hub. Securing this land is our biggest priority because it will become the demonstration farm where families learn climate-smart agriculture, children experience farming through our Farm-to-School program, and local farmers access training and practical support. We are also exploring opportunities to leverage the project for larger agricultural grants that require organizations to own or have secure access to land.
While progress may not yet be visible in the fields, it is happening behind the scenes. Every proposal written, every partnership conversation, and every planning meeting brings us closer to turning this vision into reality. Thank you for believing in this journey. Your encouragement reminds us that sustainable change takes patience, and we look forward to sharing the day when the first seeds are planted at the Omel Farm Hub.
