Empower Nepali Girls with Global Video Classrooms

Challenge

In Rolpa, girls face educational barriers, including poverty, gender biases, and limited access to resources compared to urban areas. High dropout rates and early marriages are common, driven by household duties, a shortage of qualified teachers, and low awareness of education's value. RiseHER has helped bridge educational gaps, but progress is hindered by 10+ students sharing one device. Funding is needed to enhance facilities and personalize learning, increasing engagement and opportunities.

Solution

The project will equip Rolpa's Rastriya Ma Vi Khumel School with additional video conferencing classrooms, creating a learning environment that blends traditional teaching with technology. Weekly lessons from global teachers will enhance students' English and communication skills, build confidence, and spark interest in diverse study fields. This approach fosters global connections and motivates girls to stay in school, thus bridging the gap that limits educational opportunities in rural Nepal.

Long-Term Impact

The Video Conferencing initiative will advance education in Rolpa with supplemental lessons and global knowledge, enriching students' learning. This will reduce dropout rates, empower girls with essential skills, boost confidence, and promote gender equality. Over time, the project will set a new standard for educational innovation in rural Nepal, creating a large-scale impact that fosters generations of confident, educated young women capable of driving positive change in their communities.
