Free To Shine supported girls and families through the Empower Girls in Cambodia to Stay Safe & Educated Project by providing social work case management, emergency assistance, and community protection support. During the quarter, we carried out 180 safety visits and 75 social work interventions, supported 22 new girls, and completed 17 exits to safety.
We also responded to urgent needs among displaced families affected by the Cambodia–Thailand border conflict, including hygiene and clothing support for 53 families and food packages for 80 displaced families. In addition, five families received emergency support to help them stay stable and keep girls in school.
To improve long-term resilience, 10 families received raised garden beds to strengthen food security and reduce pressure on household incomes. Our staff also completed ChildSafe training and are preparing to train community members as ChildSafe Agents so local people can better protect children from exploitation and abuse.
