Your continued support for Days for Girl’s Empowering African Girls with Health & Education project is doing an incredible amount of good, notwithstanding the challenges associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic. The following are just a selection of the advancements we are able to continue, thanks to you:
In Ghana, DfG teamed up with Plan International in Ghana’s National Gender Emergency Response Framework. In June,
In Malawi, our DfG Enterprise in Lilongwe has become “the” place to acquire face masks. In July alone, they distributed 1500 face masks, and nearly doubled the number of people they employ.
In Zimbabwe, one enterprise has been sewing masks out of any fabric they can lay their hands on (in spite of supplies being incredibly hard to come by) and donating them to those living in extreme poverty, including local dumps, where more and more people are scavenging for food.
In Kenya, teams are conducting workshops on personal hygiene for the entire household as they go door-to-door to deliver tippy tap handwashing systems and to distribute face masks to people in the community.
Your help is needed now, more than ever! We know that Periods Don’t Stop for Pandemics, and as a result of COVID-19, countless more vulnerable women and girls in Africa are in need of our help. Thank you for your care, compassion, and consideration. We could not do this work without you!
