We began our journey toward a brighter future, and we impacted more than 3 million children with the support of 100,000 dedicated volunteers. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that all children have equal access to quality education. As we prepare to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we continue to provide educational support to children through 6 Education Parks, 41 Learning Units, and 26 Firefly Learning Units across 25 cities in Turkiye.
Equal opportunity in education means that all children can access quality education regardless of factors such as geographic location, income level, or gender. However, this equality has not been fully achieved in Turkiye. In rural areas and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities, issues such as a shortage of teachers, overcrowded classrooms, and insufficient technological resources reduce the quality of education.
TEGV addresses the problem of educational inequality by providing free, high-quality educational support to children and operating in disadvantaged areas to tackle the root causes of this issue. TEGV establishes learning centers in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions, offering children access to quality educational content, technology, and creative learning methods. TEGV aims to support not only children's academic skills but also their social and cultural development.
Firstly, access to quality education enhances children's academic achievements and self-confidence, enabling them to pursue better educational and career opportunities. This allows children to grow into individuals who contribute positively to themselves and society. On a societal level, ensuring equal opportunities in education supports social justice and can help reduce income inequality.
