Continuing Our Mission and Laying the Groundwork
While we have not yet raised additional funds specifically for this GlobalGiving project since our last report, we remain deeply committed to empowering climate entrepreneurs in the Global South. Behind the scenes, our team has been working diligently to strengthen our networks, refine our approach, and secure broader institutional recognition that will ultimately benefit this project and our future microloan recipients.
Organizational Highlights
Selected as an SPA Initiative
This year, Bridging Gaps was officially selected as part of the Sustainable Platform for Action (SPA) portfolio under the United Nations Financing for Development (FfD4) framework. This recognition provides visibility for our innovative Pay-It-Forward Microloan Model and positions us to engage new partners and funders interested in scalable solutions for climate action and entrepreneurship.
Participation at FFD4
We actively participated in the Financing for Development Conference (FfD4) in Sevilla, where we shared insights from our model and advocated for greater investment in grassroots climate solutions. These global discussions help create pathways for projects like ours to attract support and integrate into broader sustainable development strategies.
Ashoka Power of Local Challenge Winner
We were honored to win the Ashoka Power of Local Challenge. This recognition has strengthened our credibility and network, opening doors to collaborations that will be critical once we begin deploying green microloans at scale.
Looking Ahead
Even without new funds raised yet, we continue to:
Identify and train local partners in Uganda, Madagascar, Zambia, and Brazil who are ready to implement microloans as soon as funding is secured.
Support climate entrepreneurs in refining their business ideas and sustainability plans, so they’re prepared to launch as soon as capital becomes available.
Seek new funding opportunities and partnerships that will help bring this project to life.
The demand for climate-focused microloans remains incredibly high in the communities we serve. We are determined to keep building the groundwork so that, once we secure funding, we can rapidly deploy loans and generate sustainable climate impact.
We are immensely grateful for GlobalGiving’s platform and the supporters who believe in the power of grassroots entrepreneurship to drive climate solutions. Thank you for staying connected with our journey!
