Laying the Foundation for Green Microloans

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to take important steps in preparing for the launch of our Green Microloans Initiative, ensuring that when funding becomes available, we can immediately begin empowering climate-focused entrepreneurs. While we are still working toward our fundraising goal, we have made significant progress in mobilizing local partners and creating awareness about the project.

Green Microloan milestones so far:
Our local partners in multiple countries have been informed and onboarded to ensure smooth implementation once funds become available.
We launched a communications campaign to raise awareness about the initiative and attract potential climate entrepreneurs.

Recent Bridging Gaps milestones:
‍ New Bridging Gaps Social Entrepreneurship Training sessions have taken place: In Madagascar, our partner LENS trained 400 aspiring entrepreneurs, and in Zambia, Over the Mountain Foundation trained 20 people, many eager to launch green businesses when financial support becomes available.
In Uganda, we are seeing the true power of our Pay-It-Forward Microloan Model in action! Over the past months, we celebrated our second and third pay-it-forward moments in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. Entrepreneurs who initially received microloans have successfully grown their businesses and are now reinvesting in their communities by passing on the funds to new climate-focused entrepreneurs. This cycle of opportunity not only strengthens local economies but also reinforces the sustainability of our approach. These milestones further prove that our model works—creating lasting impact while fostering financial independence and environmental innovation.

What’s Next?

The demand for Green Microloans is incredibly high, and we are continuing our efforts to raise the necessary funds to make these loans a reality. In the coming months, we will:
Continue fundraising to meet our goal and start distributing microloans.
Expand our outreach efforts to attract more partners and potential funders.
Support trained entrepreneurs in developing sustainable business plans while they await funding.

Your generosity plays a crucial role in making this initiative a reality. Every contribution helps bring us closer to launching these microloans and supporting climate entrepreneurs in the Global South.

Thank you for being part of this journey!
