The 2026 season is officially underway, and we are excited to share a strong start for Sinkumunchis.
After preparing our team in February through Sinku Camp, our in-person training retreat in Quillabamba, we launched school activities in March across our communities in Cusco and Andahuaylas. Sinku Camp brought together more than 19 staff members, including coaches, coordinators, and program leaders, to strengthen our methodology, team culture, safeguarding practices, and shared goals for the year.
From March 15 through June 5, our schools have recorded:
1,856 students participating
35% female participation
16,564 total attendances
993 hours of training delivered
Behind these numbers are hundreds of children and adolescents from rural Andean communities who are accessing safe, consistent, and joyful spaces to learn, play, grow, and belong.
This year, we reactivated our schools in Pisac, Maras, Valle Sagrado/Huayllabamba, Pacucha, and San Jerónimo, continuing our mission to empower children from rural Quechua-speaking communities through football, education, and community. Our 2026 partner update also highlights this restart across five schools in Cusco and Andahuaylas.
In addition to restarting our schools, we have made major progress in strengthening the organization behind the fieldwork. With support from Propel, we launched and continued improving the Sinku App, a digital tool that helps us manage registration, attendance, monitoring, and program data more effectively. This is a big step toward becoming a stronger and more data-driven organization, while also reducing administrative work for our team. Our previous partner update notes the development of the Sinku App as part of our monitoring and management system.
We have also grown our team and expanded our network of institutional partners. In 2026, we continue working with organizations that support our programs in sport, education, technology, equipment, nutrition, monitoring, and community development, including Kaphan Foundation, UEFA Foundation for Children, FIFA Foundation, Yape, Tgestiona, Umbro, Tunupa, Propel, Kuresa, Ferreycorp, Misión Tecnológica, Biomont, Le Cordon Bleu, World Bank Group, and Es Hoy.
Thanks to Kuresa, we also delivered school supplies to 14 educational institutions in Cusco and Andahuaylas, distributing more than 18,000 classroom materials such as pens, pencils, tape, and other supplies. This support helps strengthen educational conditions for children and adolescents in rural communities.
Another important milestone was the donation of 11 laptops from the World Bank and Es Hoy. These laptops are now helping our coaches and field team participate in trainings, prepare sessions, collect data, communicate more effectively, and continue their professional development.
We are proud of this start to the year. The work is growing, the team is stronger, and our systems are improving. Most importantly, more children are showing up every week to play, learn, and feel part of something bigger.
Thank you for believing in this project and helping us build a stronger future for Andean youth through football.
