Sedibeng Special School in Lephalale, Limpopo, serves 114 learners with special needs, including sensory processing challenges (SPC). Outdated vocational training equipment hampers skill development and limits future employment prospects for leaners. Additionally, the lack of a dedicated sensory room prevents a calming, multi-sensory environment that reduces anxiety and enhances focus, ultimately undermining educational outcomes of leaners.
Implementing this project at Sedibeng Special School will address current challenges by upgrading vocational training equipment and establishing a sensory room. Modern equipment will enhance skill development, boosting leaner's employability and confidence. A dedicated sensory room will provide a calming environment, aiding learners with sensory processing needs by reducing anxiety and improving focus, thereby enhancing overall learning outcomes.
Upgrading vocational training equipment will provide 144 learners with practical skills aligned with current industry standards, thereby improving their employment prospects post-graduation. A dedicated sensory room will offer a controlled environment for leaners with sensory processing challenges, aiding in anxiety reduction and focus enhancement, which are crucial for effective learning. The project will be sustainable as it will impact the next 3 to 5 years generations of +-432 leaners.
