At PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) Uganda, we believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Our mission is to empower disadvantaged and vulnerable children in rural Uganda through comprehensive support in education, healthcare, and emotional well-being. In 2005, it was estimated that 45 million children in sub-Saharan Africa had lost one or both parents, with 13 million orphaned by AIDS (USAID, UNAIDS, & UNICEF, 2005). In Uganda, countless children face overwhelming barriers to education, including poverty, gender inequality, child marriage, teenage pregnancy, and limited access to menstrual health products. These challenges not only affect individual children but also undermine the potential of entire communities.
PLANE Uganda is dedicated to identifying and supporting the most vulnerable children. Our dedicated social workers enroll these children in programs that provide education, ensuring access to quality schooling. We also focus on nutrition, offering two meals a day to ensure they are healthy and focused. Healthcare is a priority, with free basic medical care and access to safe drinking water. We provide emotional support, creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and resilience
Your support can create a ripple effect of positive change. By investing in the education and well-being of these children, you are not just helping individuals; you are uplifting entire communities. With their children safe and nourished, parents can focus on improving their livelihoods and breaking free from the grips of extreme poverty. Our training programs and investments in small businesses foster sustainable economic development. Children supported will grow into responsible, compassionate
