Numbers can tell you that hundreds of girls have received a sanitary kit over the past two years. What they can't tell you is what it feels like for a girl to walk into school during her period with her head held high, free from fear or embarrassment.
This report is about those moments.
Instead of beginning with statistics, we'd like you to meet three girls whose lives have been shaped by your generosity. Their stories remind us that real impact isn't measured only in numbers, it's found in confidence, connection, and the quiet moments that change a girl's future.
More Than a Sanitary Kit
Every girl receives a sanitary kit containing reusable pads, underwear, soap, and a Girl Talk booklet. But the workshop is just as important.
Through open conversations, girls learn about menstrual health, mothers and daughters begin talking more openly, and shame gives way to confidence.
Here's what that has meant for three girls.
Mitchelle: The Gift of Independence
For Mitchelle, the biggest change has been simple but life-changing.
"I use the pads both at school and at home, and since I received the kit, I have not faced any challenges or discomfort during my period."
No worrying about leaks. No missing lessons. No wondering how she'll get through the school day.
Then she shared something that stayed with us.
"I no longer have to ask my mum to buy pads for me. I simply use what I have, and that independence means a great deal to me."
For families balancing school fees, food, and daily expenses, that's one less financial burden. For Mitchelle, it's the freedom to focus on being a student instead of worrying about her next period.
Euphlecia: Strengthening the Mother-Daughter Bond
Euphlecia loves her reusable pads because they allow her to sleep comfortably through the night and go to school feeling rested and confident.
But when we asked what had impacted her most, she didn't mention the kit.
"It inspired me to grow closer to my mother," she told us. "I believe that is one of its greatest gifts."
She hopes future workshops will create even more opportunities for mothers and daughters to learn together.
Her words are a powerful reminder that these workshops do more than provide health education. They create safe spaces for conversations that many families have never had, replacing silence with understanding and helping girls realise they don't have to face puberty alone.
Whitney: Rediscovering Her Worth
Whitney has been using her reusable pads for nearly two years and describes the change from disposable products as a welcome one.
Yet the greatest change wasn't physical.
It was emotional.
For a long time, Whitney struggled to believe in herself. During one workshop, the affirmations shared between mothers and daughters and the encouragement from facilitator Teacher Anne left a lasting impression.
"Her words continue to remind me of my worth."
Those words have stayed with Whitney long after the workshop ended, reminding her that her value is never defined by her circumstances or by period poverty.
Why These Stories Matter
Each girl's story is different.
Mitchelle found independence.
Euphlecia found connection.
Whitney found confidence.
Yet they all lead to the same place: a girl who can stay in school, participate fully, and dream beyond the limitations of period poverty.
Today, all three girls are continuing their education through The Rahul Kotak Foundation (RKF’s) Scholarship Fund.
A sanitary kit lasts 12 to 18 months, removing one of the biggest barriers to consistent school attendance. The workshops replace shame with knowledge, fear with confidence, and silence with honest conversation.
Together, they ensure that a girl's period never costs her a day of learning or the future she deserves.
The Difference You Made Possible
None of these stories happened by chance.
They began with someone choosing to give.
Your support provided the sanitary kit. It made the workshop possible. It created a safe space where girls and their mothers could learn, ask questions, and grow together.
