2024 Kicks off with a new GGG office

By Leonie Heppener | Executive Director

NEW GGG OFFICE!
NEW GGG OFFICE!

Dear Go Girl Ghana supporter,

2024 has kicked off with a new office. We are so happy! It is enclosed so even safer for our girls to be in. More space so that we can do more activities at the same time and als hold more events on our own grounds. We've already held quite a few activities and the reviews are all positive.

What else have we done? Despite the roaring recession, we have supported to keep 6 of our girls in Senior Highschool. Half of them are in their last year now and so will be graduating this year. We are so proud to be part of their journeys.

In February, we took our Junior Highschool form 3 girls on an outing in Accra. Most of them had never been there before. We took them to the Kwame Nkrumah memorial park where they learnt about how and when Ghana gained it's independance.

Additionally, we also held our second graduation of our IT classes. This year 18 girls received their certificate in computer basics. Learning about IT means a lot in a country that is digitalizing but where most girls to not have access to a computer. We are very proud of them and so were the parents that joined the festivities too.

We can't report anot not tell you about our volunteers. Till date have had the support of 2 international volunteers. Seb is helping with giving our girls typing class, he will be with us for the better pat of 2024. We have also had Una, our 16 year old who did a 2 week internship in our office and did various cultural exchange programs with oour girls. They clearly all had a lof of fun!

But out work never end there, we have our weekly Go Girl group meetings, we hold our volunteer meetings to talk about how to improve our with, we meet with the parents to talk about their girls and education and visit them at home too. This really does help show our commitment to them and in turn activates their commitment to us too.

The next part of this year looks exciting with more activities for our girls and their communties. We hope you will continue to support our efforts! Thank you again for your support up to now.

Best wishes,

Team GGG
