We create social change with communities for the equality of girls and the improvement of their education. We help around 200 girls between 10 and 21 years old in 2 communities where teen pregnancy-, school drop out- and illiteracy rates are high.
Social norms within most communities dictate that girls have no future in further education or gaining meaningful employment. Girls average on 28 hours a week in household chores making it difficult to combine with their school work. 1 in 5 girls are still married as a child or are sold off into child labour. Only 50% of girls are enrolled in secondary school of which only 44% attends. Girls turn to boys for support instead of parents raising the teen pregnancy and STI rates yearly.
GGG empowers and provides (soft) education to 200 girls in 2 communities. We hold computer classes and sewing classes. We create a safe space to share and learn. We give out information about education, vocations, reproductive health, peer pressure and more. We support families in need with back to school support. Mothers are trained in working together to find solutions and supporting their wards. Communities meetings are held to create social change for girls and their future.
We currently educate 200 girls. We have brought 26 girls back to school in 2022. Moving forward we will reach more girls and more communities to help the equality for girls by empowerment and social change. Providing them a future where they are equal to men, where they are educated, where they have a family size they can sustain which holds more potential to rise them out of poverty.
