Dear GGG friend,
first of all thank you for showing us your support. We have been able to do some great programs with our girls and their communities.
The biggest thing we have done is a community action training called CLCP. This training helps a community come together and break down their hopes and dreams in to actions they can do themselves. This way they can create the community they want independantly.
We trained 20 parents and 10 girls from our 2 active communities over the course of 3 days. We had classes in the morning and went into the communties in the afternoon to do home visitations. It was a very interesting and interactive couple of days and we have had a lot of positive feedback.
As a follow up the parents group from Buduburam have decided to move into their community and talk tot the boys and men. As teen pregnancy is a shared concern for both boys and girls, they want to learn from the men and see how we tackle the problem together.
Not much later we had our own fashionshow. 5 of our sewing students showed off their own designs. Some of them only training for 3 months and able to independantly make some stunning designs. We are very proud of them!
Lastly we worked together with the schools we work with to hand exercise books and pens to our girls. These type of items are expensive and often parents do not prioritize them whilst they are so important to be able to do school work.
We have enough planned for the next couple of months and are looking forward to updating you on that. If you like our work, please don't hesitate to donate again. Every small thing helps!
Many thanks,
Team GGG
