ANOPA(Agoro Ne Obra Pa) Project stands for playing for a better life among children and young people especially vulnerable and challenged children. Over the months ANOPA has been empowering many more deaf children in swimming. Through your donations and funding deaf kids from Cape Coast particularly Cape Coast School for the deaf have and still continue to benefit from our swimming programs.
In all more than 100 children both male and female are taking part and enjoying our training program after school. As a result of the exposure and the uniqueness of our after school swim lessons for deaf children the attention of Memphis Depay an international soccer player with Lyon Fc has agreed to sponsor many more children to learn swimming under his Genesis Foundation for Africa.
In addition Memphis Depay has offered to fund the training of blind children in swimming just as their mute colleagues. The idea is to help empower both the blind and the deaf children to be independent and positively liable to society.
Close preparations are going on to train many more swimming instructors, build their capacity to engage the blind youth in swimming starting from january.
Cape Coast School for the deaf and blind are made up of almost thousand students with more than 800 deaf children and over 150 blind children. The Project is poised to integrate both the blind and the deaf children through swimming and further integrate them with other non-disabled children within the society and the community at large. We are humbly entreating all our donors to follow our progress and the progress of our deaf youth through our facebook page through the link https://www.facebook.com/ANOPA.Project/
Let us continue to lend a helping hand to the needy and the vulnerable in our society especially the physically challenged. ANOPA- lets play for a better life for all irrespective of our background.
