The Cambodian Rural Development Team could not be more thankful for the amazing support we've received for our ongoing work with Srey Phoom and the rest of the folks in Domrei Phong Commune.
It is with great sadness that we must report that we simply do not have enough funds to keep our doors open in Domrei Phong. With no other donors to turn to, the field office has been packed up and we've been forced to shift our staff over to other critically funded project sites. The villages of Bos, Sre Triek, Prahuot, Sre S'dach, Bong Kieb, Prey Kou, Pralay Triet and Krouch, and more than 4,000 people who live there, will no longer be served by full-time CRDT staff as of this month. Please help us by holding these families in our hearts and minds as they face continued food insecurity, drought, crop failures from unseasonal rain patterns, and land displacements.
We will continue our campaign to fund this project as best we can- we hope to have one staff member still going to Domrei Phong as we struggle to find a new donor to fund the last piece of this five-year project. Your generous donations are now the only thing making this project possible- and you can feel proud that your dollars are going directly to filling this void in funding and keeping something going on the ground in Domrei Phong.
Thank you again, and we will keep you informed as things develop in Domrei Phong Commune.
