While fundraising is still in progress, Empower Future Initiative has completed key pre-implementation activities for this project. We conducted community mobilization in Mararaba, Karu L.G.A., Nasarawa State, engaging local leaders and youth networks.
So far, potential beneficiaries have been identified and profiled, focusing on unemployed and at-risk youth interested in ICT and vocational skills training. We also mapped local training resources and potential mentors to support rapid project rollout once funding is secured.
These preparatory actions ensure the project is implementation-ready and positioned for immediate impact upon receipt of funds.
Although fundraising for the Empower 200 Youth with Digital & Vocational Skills project is still ongoing, Empower Future Initiative has taken important preparatory steps to ensure the project is implementation-ready once funding is secured.
Over the past weeks, our team conducted community mobilization and stakeholder engagement in Mararaba, Karu L.G.A., Nasarawa State. We held informal consultations with community leaders, youth groups, and local facilitators to introduce the project objectives and build local ownership.
As a result of this engagement, we successfully identified and profiled prospective beneficiaries, focusing on unemployed and at-risk youth, including school leavers and young people from low-income households. Priority was given to youths showing strong interest in digital and vocational skill acquisition.
In addition, we mapped available local training resources and potential mentors who will support ICT, vocational, and entrepreneurship training when the project begins.
These early actions demonstrate strong community interest and readiness. With donor support, Empower Future Initiative is well-positioned to immediately commence training activities and deliver meaningful impact to 200 young people in Mararaba.
We appreciate the continued support and visibility from the GlobalGiving community and look forward to sharing training outcomes in our next report.
