Empower 100 Maidens with Sustainable Snail Farming

The Empower 100 Maidens with Sustainable Snail Farming project is making steady progress despite financial constraints that have slowed its implementation. We have successfully trained an initial group of 45 beneficiaries and collected monitoring data showing encouraging results, with many participants establishing and managing productive snail farms that are improving their household incomes and food security.

However, limited funding has prevented us from reaching the remaining 55 beneficiaries, many of whom are women and young girls whose livelihoods have been severely affected by the ongoing Anglophone conflict in Cameroon. Their need for sustainable economic opportunities remains urgent.

To continue the project, UNIMAC is actively exploring alternative funding sources, partnerships, and local fundraising initiatives while remaining hopeful for additional support through GlobalGiving and other donors. With increased funding, we will expand training, provide startup materials, strengthen mentorship, and empower more vulnerable maidens to build sustainable livelihoods and long-term resilience.
