1. Executive Summary
The Care and Education Support Project was implemented to improve the welfare, education, health, and social development of 35 orphaned and vulnerable children from low-income families. The project focused on providing access to education, nutritional support, healthcare, psychosocial care, and basic life necessities.
The children supported under this initiative included orphans, children living with elderly guardians, and children from extremely poor households unable to meet basic educational and welfare needs. The project aimed to create a safe and supportive environment where children could learn, grow, and achieve their potential.
Throughout the reporting period, the project successfully enrolled and retained all 35 children in school, provided scholastic materials, ensured regular meals, supported healthcare services, and conducted counseling and mentorship activities. Community participation and donor support played an important role in the successful implementation of the project.
Despite challenges such as rising education costs, food prices, and limited funding, the project achieved significant positive outcomes in school attendance, academic performance, child protection, and emotional well-being.
2. Background Information
Many orphaned and vulnerable children face barriers to education, healthcare, nutrition, and emotional support due to poverty, loss of parents, neglect, and unstable family conditions. In many communities, children are forced to miss school because of lack of fees, uniforms, books, and basic necessities.
The Care and Education Support Project was initiated in response to the increasing number of children living in vulnerable situations. The project seeks to provide holistic support that addresses both educational and social needs.
The target beneficiaries are 35 orphaned and poor children aged between 5 and 17 years. These children come from disadvantaged households where guardians struggle to provide adequate care and educational support.
