This project will empower 100 vulnerable women in Kampala with practical, market-driven income skills. Many women, including street vendors and young mothers, face unstable earnings and limited job opportunities. Through hands-on training, basic business skills, tools, and mentorship, participants will build sustainable livelihoods, strengthen household stability, and gain confidence to support their families and contribute to their communities.
Many women in Kampala and surrounding areas, especially widows, single mothers and young women aged 18-35, lack stable income due to limited skills, capital, and job opportunities. Poverty, caregiving burdens, and loss of family support push many into insecure livelihoods, leaving families vulnerable and dependent despite their contribution to national peace and stability.
This project will address income insecurity by providing one-week, hands-on skills training tailored to market demand. Women will gain practical income-generating skills, basic business knowledge, and mentorship, enabling them to start or improve small livelihoods, earn independently, and support their families with confidence and dignity
By gaining practical income skills, women will increase their earning capacity, improve household stability, and reduce long-term dependence. As trained women start small businesses or income activities, families benefit from better nutrition, education, and well-being, while communities grow stronger through women-led economic participation and resilience.
