Due to some slow movement by companies and the coming of the Islamic month of Ramadan, progress in July was slow with only 1 candidate placed.
1 candidate was placed at Green Fingers Nursery as a rickshaw driver.
Strong pipeline of jobs at the interview/selection stage. August has been a much stronger month.
In continued efforts to create opportunities for people with disabilities, NOWPDP is proud to announce an on-call rickshaw service operated by people with disabilities! We think this is a pretty great idea, and the National Bank of Pakistan does too! They've donated 20 rickshaws to NOWPDP, which will be modified for people with disabilities disabilities to use.
The challenge: as with all non-profits, money is always the issue. We're raising $10,000 in funds to pilot the first 5 rickshaws, so we can prove that the concept works, before seeking further funding to scale it up. Of course, our intent is for this to be self-sustaining, particularly as it will be bringing in revenue!
