Medicos del Mundo has mobilized its experience and know-how in emergencies. We have activated an emergency response plan to continue providing support to the most vulnerable population groups with whom we have already been working for more than 30 years, making sure they have adequate shelter, food and sanitation. At the same time, we have a team on site that has identified most urgent public health, physical and mental health needs of the affected population and is implementing the response.

Our team has been working in the Valencian Community for 30 years with the homeless, women in situation of sexual exploitation, and people in extreme social exclusion. A total of 2,200 people saw during 2023 how their lives improved thanks to the work we do in the Valencian Community. This flood (DANA) has strongly impacted in their living conditions worsening their situation and impacted in the lives of thousands of other people in the region
