The Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake in Ishikawa prefecture has left the community grappling with severe challenges, including widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure, and essential services. In response to this incident, Japan Heart's iER (International Emergency Relief) has been providing local support needs, began an investigation and providing material support in addition to medical care.
The Noto Peninsula Earthquake of 2024 has caused widespread destruction, displaced thousands and disrupting essential services. The most vulnerable, including the elderly, children, and low-income families, are struggling to find shelter, clean water, food, and medical care. It is crucial to address this crisis to prevent further hardship and ensure the safety and well-being of the affected community.
Japan Heart has dispatched the emergency response team to the affected areas to implement the following disaster relief efforts: 1) Medical treatment for infectious disease 2) Distributing supplies packs containing daily necessities such as drinking water and bath towels etc. 3) Hygiene management advice for influenza positive people 4) Hygiene management advice for influenza positive people
Japan Heart will provide support to help people regain their lives in various fields such as health, education, and support for people with disabilities. These efforts will not only aid immediate recovery but also strengthen the community's ability to withstand future disasters, fostering a sense of hope and security. Japan Heart will continue support activities in collaboration with local governments and other organizations, with an eye on medium to long-term support.
