Indonesia which located on the Pacific Ring of Fire -an area with a high degree of tectonic activity-, risk of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods, and tsunamis occurred frequently, and the natural disasters resulted the deaths of hundreds of thousands of human and animal lives and the destructive effect on the land area infrastructure and economic costs. The project will deliver humanitarian aid and benefit to affected communities where the natural disasters occurred across Indonesia.
Extreme wet or dry seasons --El Nino or La Nina weather-- can ruin food crop harvests and affect to the poor in Indonesia. Sometimes human beings have been involved in natural disasters such as forest fires caused by land-clearing on the traditional way in some Islands in Indonesia and caused floods, landslides, and much more.
During the emergency response, the project will deliver direct benefit for the affected communities by distribute food pack, medical aid, nutrition, clean water and much more. Furthermore, during the recovery phase the project will provide shelters, re-build the public infrastructures such as school which has been damaged by natural disasters.
To prevent the major impact of natural disasters that occur in the area, the Al-Khair Foundation and local government stakeholders can hold disaster mitigation and management training attended by community leaders so they can spread their knowledge to the community.
