Emergency Response for Ukrainians

Vitali, came to Türkiye with his family after the war in Ukraine started, was only 14.  Vitali, who had previously only visited Türkiye for vacation, had to start a new life with the outbreak of war. The young man, who is now 17 years old, said that he managed to adapt here in a short time thanks to the warm hospitality he encountered in Türkiye.

Vitali is completing his education in Türkiye and is preparing for his new goal, the university exam. In addition, Vitali started working in Ukrainian Associations as a volunteer and had the opportunity to organize many cultural and social events with the grant support provided by Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) to Ukrainian Associations. He stated that thanks to these events, he had the chance to socialize with the Turkish people and introduce Ukrainian culture.

While Vitali described the people in Türkiye as "helpful", he stated that they facilitated the adaptation process and that he did not experience major difficulties. “I would like to thank ASAM for not making me feel like a stranger here and for always supporting me in every aspect,” he said.

Vitali is interested in music and he is in a choir group. Emphasizing that participating in the choir has a special meaning for Vitali, the young man added, "Perhaps it is an opportunity for me to make my voice heard to the world."

Natalia comes to Türkiye from Ukraine after the Ukrainian war. Natalia and her children have been living in Türkiye for two years. Feeling alone when she first arrived, Natalia and her children contacted Ukrainian Associations in Türkiye. She wants to learn a language here and tries to find motivation by helping children who are victims of war.

Social Harmony with Music and Dance

Natalia states that there is an opportunity to participate in more events within the scope of the activity with the small-budget support given by the Association for Social Development and Aid Mobilization (ASAM) to Ukrainian Associations.

In addition, she states that there are painting workshops for children. "I also have twin children, a boy and a girl. They had a lot of adaptation processes, worries and anxiety disorders. My husband sent us, but he couldn't come," she says. She is very grateful to ASAM for helping her with psychological support for her children. She adds that her children have recovered and started to love Türkiye.

Ukrainian Children Are Smiling

Natalia says that she is making efforts to reunite her family. “Türkiye is a helpful country, they showed an example of solidarity for us. “I can say that hundreds of Ukrainian children are happy thanks to ASAM,” she adds.
