With your support and our operational expertise, Trans Rescue provides discreet emergency protection and relocation support to trans people facing serious threats to their safety. Support may include travel documents, transportation, visa support, medical care, short-term safe accommodation, security coordination, and pre- and post-relocation psychosocial support. We help people move from immediate danger toward safety and begin rebuilding their lives in a safer environment.
Trans people in the Middle East and North Africa and other high-risk settings can face violence, family rejection, detention, persecution and homelessness because of their gender identity. For people facing immediate danger, reaching safety can be extremely difficult due to barriers involving travel documents, visas, transportation, accommodation and finances. Few resources address this urgent gap before a person reaches safety.
Trans Rescue provides discreet emergency protection and relocation support to trans people facing serious threats to their safety. Funding supports essential costs such as travel documents, transportation, visas, temporary safe accommodation, medical care, basic needs, security coordination and psychosocial support before and after relocation. Each case is assessed individually according to the person's circumstances and protection needs.
Reaching safety gives people the opportunity to rebuild their lives with greater security and dignity. This project will support people facing immediate danger through emergency relocation and help them access longer-term protection and support after reaching safety. Each 2,500 raised can contribute toward the estimated average cost of one emergency relocation, while strengthening protection pathways for future cases.
