As a response to the current health and economic emergency, Kito continues to support the indigenous Mangyan people in the island of Mindoro.
During these months, children have been our primary target in order to provide concrete help to their families. Our organization has indeed engaged in the donation of paper, inks and other school supplies in the elementary schools of the rural areas. It is aimed at facilitating the distance schooling, by promoting the education of the pupils living in the poorest districts of the country.
Additionally, Kito has distributed food and hygiene kits not only to children families, but even to those lacking the basic needs, to improve the health and well-being of the local community.
Since the current crisis is seriously affecting the indigenous population, further vulnerable due to the recent natural disasters, our interventions play a crucial role in supporting these people.
Thus, the main objectives of the project are not only to tackle the Coronavirus emergency, but also to improve the future social, economic and health conditions of the Mangyan community.
