With the devastating floods in northern Afghanistan this summer, it is vital to get aid to families quickly. Unless Western nations, there is very little government response to disasters. When the water floods an area, poorly built homes wash away. There is no insurance. Many times, there are no roads. Even someone's entire livelihood is washed away. Many farmers have lost their herds. Others have lost their crops. Some have lost their children.
Thus far this year we have provided food, medicine, or shelter to 2,089 families which equals around 14,000 individuals. We don't always know what will come next but thank you for helping us be well prepared.
